The West London Cycling Mela came to Osterley Park on Saturday 13 June 2026.

This free, family‑friendly event celebrated cycling across West London and was a success, attended by many people; cycling has become - is - popular! It included a programme of led rides, bike maintenance sessions, Dr Bike, Police bike marking, a free bike raffle (prizes included a bicycle, free Forest and Voi hire bike time), a smoothie bike, Scalextrix, Hounslow Repair Café, and an arena where you could try out a cargo bike. There were also performances by the Bicycle Ballet Company and Bicycle Pilot throughout the day.

If you didn't get along but would like to learn how to look after your bike you might consider one of the sessions being provided by Ealing Cycling Campaign this Summer. See the 'Rides and Events' page.

Ealing Cycling Campaign led a ride to the Mela from Acton and Ealing Council led a ride from Pitshanger Park, but many people simply arrived under their own (steam?) pedal power to take part on the day. If you arrived by car there was a charge for parking (unless you are a member of the National Trust) - another reason to ride a bike.

The Cycling Mela was delivered by Hounslow Council in conjunction with the National Trust and the West London councils of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Richmond & Wandsworth.
