Richmond Park November 2007

Eleven turned out for a very gentle Sunday ride to Richmond Park in the beautiful autumn sunshine. In South Ealing two of our lady riders had to drop out due to a front brake that snapped off completely somehow. We followed the Thames Path to Richmond, where we picked up two more riders. At Richmond Park's cafe we met one more, while admiring the fast cyclists whizzing past on their sleek road bikes.

The wide and smooth National Cycle Network Route 4 path through the centre of the park showed us the autumn colours. One of our number took some black-and-white group snaps with an interesting old manual camera, hopefully the pictures will follow. We continued through Mortlake to the Ship pub for Sunday lunch. From there we deviated from the prepared plan as some riders wanted to continue the off-road theme by heading towards Kew Bridge and the Grand Union Canal for West Ealing.

Personally I felt time was getting on so at Kew Bridge I headed back into Ealing. I hope the others enjoyed my first attempt at leading an Ealing Cycling Campaign ride.

Thanks to Phil for leading.
