Three of us set of at 10, from the Town Hall and picked up another
as we went north to join the canal. The weather was a bit chilly
initially but was sunny and soon warmed up. The canal path was smooth
mostly so we zipped along. We took a tea/cake break at Little Venice
where a canal boat serves snacks. It was very nice to be able to
get into London hardly touching any roads. The Eco fair was quite
varied - furniture, eco candles that use soy wax, jewelry, clothes,
cushion covers, glass work objects.
I was inspired to take up knitting and bought some needles and
a some organic naturally dyed wool ! There were lots of own stall
businesses so it was interesting to talk to them before buying.
Free copies of the Ecologist were also being given out together
with a bottle of water in a bio degradable plastic bottle. There
was even a Toyota Prius here advertising a car service for businesses.
Some people were able to check out stalls quickly and then made
own way back. After lunch and loaded with lots of web site details
and a few Xmas presents the remainder of group set off for home.
As the sun was still shinning, and as the trip in had been so quick,
we decided to go back the same way. Everyone was back home before
it got dark. Looking forward to next years visit already.
