An outdoor screening of the cycling movie, Bicycle Dreams was cancelled tonight due to rain. Ealing BID (Business Improvement District) planned to screen the movie on the roof of Springbridge Road car park this evening (26th August) at dusk, but cancelled the event at lunchtime when rain threatened to soak the audience. The film was intended to start the debate on a major cycling event in Ealing next year. Ealing BID organised the screening in partnership with Rocket Sports Management, a local sports management company co-founded by Elton John, that manages Olympic gold medal-winning cyclists Geraint Thomas and Laura Trott, along with a host of other top cyclists. Hopefully tonight's nightmare for the organisers will turn into a dream event next year. Watch this space...
